sikaryus was founded by marco and matthias in hattingen, nrw, germany in january 2004. as both bandfounders liked the traditional norwegian black metal, the musical direction of sikaryus was clearly mandatory. besides early bathory and ulver there are influences of bands like windir, summoning and kampfar.
christian joined as an additional guitarist the band in the end of 2005 and sikaryus became complete vocalist björn got on board of sikaryus midyear 2006.
the band released their first demo cd "Unrestrained" in february 2008.
during 2008 christian left the band for personal reasons.
